Tenerife Weather

The costal areas of Tenerife tend to offer the best of the weather and the clearest sky's, often with seemingly endless sunshine with only an occasional rainfall. The south coast and the western coast of Tenerife are the warmest, with the northern parts of the island receiving the most rainfall. This creates two distinctive sides of the island with the north being much lusher and covered in dense tropical plantations, while the south is much more desert like due to little or no rainfall at all! With the prevailing weather systems typically coming from the north-east, Mount Teide tends to form a block on the weather and forces rainfall to remain in the north of the island, providing an amazing landscape of lush sub-tropical vegetation.
Benefitting from it's south-eastern location and the year round favourable temperatures, Golf del Sur has thrived both as a golfing resort for golfers from all over the world and as a holiday resort for many tourists who flock here year after year due to enjoy the everlasting sunshine. Golf del Sur is also blessed with a constant natural breeze which can be a a real godsend, especially in the very hot summer months. The breeze provides Golf del Sur with a gentle cooling effect which is much more favourable than the summer temperatures in the main resorts. These can be quite stifling, particularly in August and September.
