Open Pairs Bowls Tournament in Golf del Sur

January 2012 Pairs Open Bowling Tournament

This coming Saturday (21 January 2012) sees the start of the January 2012 Open bowls tournament at Tenerife Green Bowls in Golf del Sur. 32 teams, consisting of teams from Tenerife and the UK, will fight it out to be crowned Champions and claim their share of the €1240 prize money.

The teams will be separated out into 8 leagues of 4 teams. The tournament kicks off on Saturday with each team playing their first of 3 games in the league part of the tournament.

By Tuesday evening (24 Jan) the winners of each section will be decided and all will go forward to the quarter finals on the Wednesday. Those who finish 2nd and 3rd will go forward to the plate competition. On the Thursday, the semi-finals and finals will take place, before the presentation of prizes around 1700 hours.

The quality of the Open tournaments is of a high standard. It is a great tournament for all the players, but is also very enjoyable for the spectators who always come to watch the different stages of the tournament.
