Shortly after the local election in May of this year (2011) and following our first meeting with the new administration, we reported that we had received written confirmation from “The Council of San Miguel de Abona”, that they would register and take over the responsibility of the "roads and green areas" of Golf del Sur before the end of 2011. Unfortunately, we now have to report that this is now “not going to happen”. It would appear that after endless years of preparing for this event, The Council, have now been advised by their legal team that each and every interested party in Golf del Sur, which includes owners of residential properties, the business community, the promoters plus anyone else, must receive official notification by registered post that this long awaited (20 years+) event is going to occur. This is not only costly but also an extremely long winded and almost impossible procedure on which we are unable to put an accurate estimate of duration. (Due to name changes, outdated information etc).

There have been several incidents recently when residents have been unable to contact the Golf del Sur Security Patrol. The mobile phone number to be used is: 650 691 474 so please make a note of the number and keep it safe.

Be aware that the person you call may only speak a little English or none at all.
