In the Kitchen at Tapas - Pata de Oro, Golf del Sur

Firstly let me tell you about our name, for years the restaurant was called Pato de Oro (Duck of gold), which many of you may know us by. But since changing to Tapas we are now called Pata de Oro (Leg of gold), to be in keeping with or Spanish identity. Well where do I start?? What´s been happening over the past few weeks? More from Tapas - Pata de Oro in Golf del Sur

Wow – January has been and gone and we’re halfway through February. I’m sure the months are getting shorter. What is happening to the weather in Golf del Sur? We may not be suffering extreme low temperatures like mainland Europe and the UK but I think this has been one of the coldest winters for a long time. This is not good news for holiday makers hoping for some winter sun but it’s been great for business. As folk haven’t been able to sunbathe our lunchtimes have been really busy helped along by our 20% discount which remains very popular.

Jax from Tapas - Pata de Oro in Golf del Sur

Well, this is my 2nd blog - hope you had a chance to read the first one. I’m not sure if I introduced myself properly in the first blog. I’m Jackie Memoli, usually known as Jax and I am the manageress of Tapas, as well as looking after our other 2 sister´s restaurants here in Golf del Sur. We had a cracking New Year’s Eve and it was great to spend it with so many friends. I’m not sure many of us managed to surface early on New Year’s Day...

Tapas - Pata de Oro, San Blas, Golf del Sur

Welcome to this my first blog. I hope to do a blog every couple of weeks to let you know what’s going on at Tapas, Golf del Sur. Some of you may already know me as I’ve been on the Golf del Sur for 14 years now – how time flies.

I first worked at Taboo’s nightclub when I arrived in Tenerife which gave me a great opportunity to meet people. Taboos was, and still is the only venue on the Golf with a nightclub licence so it is a great haunt for restaurant and bar staff as well as entertainers as it gives them a chance to wind down after work. A few years ago Taboos became an Italian restaurant as well but you can still find me down there some late, late evenings as they have some great DJs after midnight. Although these days I have to remember to be up in the morning to do the school run.
