It’s that time again to treat your lovely Mum to a delicious lunch or dinner. Here at The Palms in Golf del Sur we are offering a mouth-watering 2 course special menu for only 10 euros, from 1pm until late, with a special treat for all Mums. Chill out in the afternoon or if you would like to combine your meal with our evening entertainment, please reserve your table for 7pm or later. We are sure to have a superb time with the many guises of Colin Stevens which usually turns into a spectacularly hilarious and exhausting show for all!!

Had to get that one in, while all our friends and relly’s are knee deep in snow back home, we in Golf del Sur are basking in glorious sunshine and topping up the tans. Just want to wish Mike Fielding a speedy recovery after his op, and hope you and Barbara will be back at The Palms with us all very soon. Nik Page celebrated his birthday this week, Sunday in fact. Happy Birthday Nik and welcome back. Sunday night, The Palms Pool Bar & Restaurant was absolutely chokker, bursting at the seams even.

Has it been a month since Christmas already, where has it gone? Hope we are all settling well into 2012. Happy Burns night to all you Scots, I love a bit of haggis, never had any though. Who’d believe we are in the middle of January already. It seems like Christmas was a million years ago. Thanks to the latest Tenerife Calima, many of us are suffering the after effects, with coughs, sore throats and chest infections, me included. But as usual friends and well wishes from The Palms in Golf del Sur have been their kind selves making sure that the sufferers are not forgotten.

"And now the end is near" as the song goes. Time goes by and friends move on. What am I talking about, I hear you ask. Reggie Baby has sold up and is moving on to pastures new, Actually he’s only going to Los Abrigos, got himself a little pad for his old age…….hahaha. After being in Golf del Sur on The Palms for 8 years, he’s decided he wants to be like the old man of the sea, well actually that’s all you can see when you look out of his new apartment window. Anyway I’m sure you would all like to join me in wishing him all the best in his new home. He’ll probably be here more than ever now…only kidding Reg.

Well peeps, 2012 has finally arrived, and may I say an excellent New Years Eve was had by one and all at the Palms Pool Bar in Golf del Sur. Fun and Frolics was the highlight of the night. The subject of the fancy dress was the letter ‘M’. There was Tanya looking ever so eerrrmmmm …… Marge Simpson….What can I say, then Nik was My Boy Lollipop, there was Marilyn Monroe, Mafia Man, Minnie & Mickey Mouse, The Monkeys, Kenny was a Man in Black and Colin was a cross between the Military, but I said he was more like Mash, and me and my other half Steve were the red and yellow M & M’s. You had to be there to see it.

Yet another Christmas disappears into the distance, Hands up how many of us ate and drank too much. MEEE. Christmas Eve at The Palms was nothing if not a huge giggle. Friends past and present were strutting their stuff on the dance floor while Kenny and Jamie gave us all the fun of the 70’s and a few Christmas jingles as well. Reg was back in Golf del Sur on the 27th after visiting the family in the UK, and was back on his perch doing the BBQ on Wednesday, welcome home Reggie baby.

The big guy ….didn’t want to say fat, cos it’s not very nice, with the big white beard has been to Golf del Sur, well he has to me anyway. Well a very Merry Christmas too each and every one of you guys. Hopes to heaven you all had a cool yule. A great time was had by all on Thursday night at the Palms. Dale’s Quiz and Karaoke was a brilliant night, we all had a Christmas themed quiz with a section on music, then after the quiz was karaoke with a mixture of old and new Christmas tunes, really put everyone in a festive mood, lots of laughs.

Well yet another week in Golf del Sur floats by on a fluffy white cloud, rather that than a grey snow cloud as many of our friends and rellies back home are experiencing at the moment. What with the 2 breakies for €5 is there a better way to start your day? Dean and Jane to take care of the prep, and the washing up afterwards, luvvly jubbly. When it comes to entertainment in Golf del Sur, there’s a friendly smile around every corner. A good morning here, a good afternoon there and all with a nod or 2, and dimples too if you really want them, as in Colin Stevens case, cheeky chappy, but always up for a good night out to entertain you. If you leave without having a good laugh, then you’ve come to the wrong place.

...and the pig is getting fat! I don’t know about you but I’m meeting myself coming back! There has been lots going on at the Palms Pool Bar in Golf del Sur since we last spoke... Parties, fund raisers and lots lots more but better to look forward I think. During December we are offering 2 standard brekkies for 5 euros, 10 – 1pm…always popular with our regulars and of course we are still serving our Meal Deal specials during Grumpy Hours 5 – 7pm 5.50 each or 2 for 10 euros Monday to Saturday.

Another fabulous Golf del Sur evening in The Palms Pool Bar on Monday with a packed house enjoying good food and brilliant entertainment from the pupils of The Gillian Banks Theatre School who have travelled to Tenerife especially to entertain our lovely guests and raise money for Live Arico, a very worthwhile cause. We were all extremely impressed by the variety of beautiful costumes, delightful choreography and well presented songs ( from some very talented singers). Overall a spectacular night and a credit to Gillian and Martin who have obviously worked extremely hard to put together and present such a spectacular production and stage it in such a very short space of time. Well done to all!!
