Practising in the Pool at Amarilla Divers in Golf del Sur

Well the summer is upon us and so are the tourists. Golf del Sur is getting busy by the day and so is our Dive centre. We are now in the season of our Discover Scuba Diving courses, with students of all ages from 10 years and upwards. We have even had whole families arrive to try diving together who had a fabulous time.

Advanced Open and Peak Performance Buoyancy Courses

We have had a few regulars back with us this last 2 weeks and they were here completing their Advanced Open course and Peak Performance Buoyancy courses. Both Sam & Gareth had a great time and gained loads more experience & confidence in the water and have decided they may join us in Egypt in January.

Upgrade Course from Junior Scuba Diver to Junior Open Water

We have also had Paige & Alfie back to upgrade from their Junior Scuba Diver to Junior Open Water course. They have done an excellent job and this time were joined by their brother Ronnie who completed his PADI Seal Team.

Neil has been in the pool teaching Scuba Diving courses with Kevin & Julie. This is a good course to go for if you are short on time or just want to go slowly with your diving education. There were plenty of new divers that came to share the underwater world with us and we showed them all the delights of what Tenerife has to offer. We visited Wrecks, Reefs, Swim Throughs and turtles and were pleased with all the smiling faces.

Mary has been working in the pool a lot doing Discover Scuba Diver courses with Rachel and we have seen a lot of very happy divers leave the centre. Some are even thinking of returning for their Open Water courses later in the year.

Dive Master Interns

The Dive Master Interns are doing a great job and we have managed to get some of their stamina completed and also their pool skills. We are now looking forward to their Kit exchanges and skills workshops.

We also now have a few places left for the internship starting in September. This is open to Golf del Sur residents as well as non-residents. If anyone is interested in joining our program then pop down and have a chat with either Mary or Neil and we will be glad to show you what the dive profession can offer you.

Emergency First Response Course

Melinda our Junior team leader has been back in the centre for her Emergency First Response course. This is an excellent course offered by Amarilla Divers and is offered to non-divers too. This course is the CPR & First Aid course and is taught by one of our instructors. You will learn the basics for Primary & Secondary care and will receive a certification that lasts for 2 years. You also get to practice some scenarios with our ANNIE. If you would like to complete the EFR course or upgrade your current skills, come down and see us.

That’s it for now, but check back regularly for more up to date information on Amarilla Divers in Golf del Sur.
