There are a multitude of bars and restaurants situated in Golf del Sur catering for virtually every possible taste one can imagine. Not only will you find the restaurant of your choice you will also find many bars offering all sorts of entertainment from karaoke, pub quizzes and bingo, to live bands and tribute acts. Many of the Golf del Sur hotels and complexes have their own bars and restaurants offering nightly entertainment but there are many more within a short walking distance. The main area for this is the San Blas commercial centre and along the seafront by the marina San Miguel and the Aguamarina hotel.
San Blas Centre
It is fair to say that San Blas is known as the main place to go out at night - it certainly is the focal point of Golf del Sur with its array of bars and restaurants, but "The Square", as it is known locally is also good for shopping and other amenities. The San Blas commercial centre is two large squares or plaza’s split in the middle and known as the top and bottom square and it is totally pedestrianised. During the day, San Blas takes on the feel of a small village with people milling around, shopping, or enjoying a drink or snack in one of the many sunny terraces of the café bars and restaurants in the centre.
There is a well stocked supermarket selling everything you need while you are on holiday, particularly for those on self-catering holidays. It can be a little expensive for large amounts of grocery shopping and it is recommended to take a trip to the top of the Golf where you will find many large local supermarkets and a slightly better price. Duty free shops are scattered about San Blas, selling everything from perfume, cigarettes and alcohol right up to the very latest modern electronics and gadgets. There are also hairdressers, car hire offices, banks with ATM machines, estate agents, boutiques, gift shops and much more.
During the day, the San Blas centre is the hub of Golf del Sur, with both residents and those on holiday in Golf del Sur mixing around the San Blas centre - we have written a brief article on San Blas by Day.
