Around the Golf
Nowhere near as big as the San Blas centre, but still fun to go to, is the Golf del Sur seafront area around the Aguamarina hotel. There is a long boulevard to enjoy walking and taking the sea air; an English supermarket and a great Irish bar that has entertainment nightly. It also has big screens so is a great place to watch live sporting events. A few shops and boutiques are littered about the place but there are also some great restaurants around this area. There is both Chinese and Indian food available as well as some excellent steak and pizza houses selling everything from T-bones to fresh fish.
There is a great little English bar sat on the seafront walkway down to the new marina that I hear is excellent for home cooked food and their Sunday dinners are supposed to be one of the best on the Golf. There is also a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant to tantalise those taste buds. If you have been out both in this area and San Blas and still fancy something different, then there is even an English fish and chip shop outside Las Adelfas on the one way system.
With the recent extensions, it is now possible to stroll the sea front boulevard all the way from the traditional fishing village of Los Abrigos and it's quaint little harbour, past the main seafront areas around the Golf del Sur hotels, and past the Amarilla Golf resort. Along the way, you will pass a quiet area of natural preservation, some busier spaces around the hotels and commercial areas of Golf del Sur, the Marina San Miguel, and some quiet and pretty little walkways and onto the front of the golf course at Amarilla Golf. For those wishing to sample gentle walks and take in the salt air of the Atlantic Ocean, nothing could be better, or healthier! With so many different environments spread over a couple of kilometers, it's no wonder at the popularity of this seafront area.
In the evenings, the seafront area around the Hotel Aguamarina becomes more lively, as this expanding area receives visitors looking for a meal or just a few drinks whilst overlooking the ocean at sunset. Another great place to enjoy people-watching and the nightlife of Golf del Sur.
