There are many places now in Golf del Sur that offer live entertainment throughout the week, detailed in our "Whats on Guide". Some bars and restaurants show live acts seven days a week, whilst others have specific nights where they hold quiz and karaoke nights, special BBQ evenings and other such events to keep you and your family entertained during your holidays. The hotels in Golf del Sur also offer entertainment on certain nights of the week, especially in the main holiday periods when the children are off school.

Golf del Sur was originally conceived and built as a holiday resort and golf course. The golf course was opened in 1987 and the hotels and holiday resort have been evolving ever since. Golf del Sur is situated only a few kilometres from Tenerife's main airport, Reina Sofia (or Tenerife Sur). As a thriving holiday resort with a top class golf course, Golf del Sur hotels and rental accommodation are often hard to find, and as each mini village within Golf del Sur has its own special character, we have tried hard to provide as much useful information here as we could, in order to allow readers to make the most informed decisions on hotel accommodation, or to select their preferred locations in which to rent holiday accommodation.

During the day, the San Blas centre in Golf del Sur takes on the feel of a small village with both residents and visitors to Golf del Sur milling around, shopping, enjoying a drink or snack in one of the many sunny terraces or the café bars and restaurants, or even just lazing around people watching and enjoying the atmosphere.

There are two tourist markets in and around Golf del Sur offering all sorts of holiday gifts, clothes, arts and crafts goods and trinkets. One of the markets is held every Friday on the small patch of wasteland just outside the Aguamarina Gema Hotel adjacent to the new Marina San Miguel. The market is open from 7am in the morning until 2pm in the afternoon. Parking is a little difficult but you can usually always find a parking space in the car park directly opposite the Wilde Geese Irish pub only a few hundred metres away.

There are a multitude of bars and restaurants situated in Golf del Sur catering for virtually every possible taste one can imagine. Not only will you find the restaurant of your choice you will also find many bars offering all sorts of entertainment from karaoke, pub quizzes and bingo, to live bands and tribute acts. Many of the Golf del Sur hotels and complexes have their own bars and restaurants offering nightly entertainment but there are many more within a short walking distance. The main area for this is the San Blas commercial centre and along the seafront by the marina San Miguel and the Aguamarina hotel.

As you enter the one-way system on Golf del Sur you will see the new medical centre on the left hand side of the main road just after the Golf Club turning and just before The Palms resort. The medical centre was formed by a group of over 20 specialists with many years experience in well known hospitals, both locally and international. It has state of the art facilities and is one of the most advanced medical centres in the whole of the Canary Islands.
